The Honda XRE 300 has been patented in India signalling the bike’s launch sometime soon.
Honda has patented its first mass market adventure-tourer, the XRE 300 in India. Honda had announced that there will be two motorcycle launches and two scooter launches in the financial year 2017-18. The XRE 300 could be one of those motorcycles.
Lookswise, the Honda XRE 300 resembles a proper adventure-tourer, courtesy the long travel suspension, rough and rugged tyres, spoked wheels and the raised front mudguard. The XRE 300 will be offered with a 21-inch tyre at the front and an 18-incher at the rear. The Japanese adventure bike will rival the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure and also the BMW G310 GS.
The Honda XRE 300 is powered by a 291.6cc fuel-injected single-cylinder air-cooled mill that produces 25.4 HP and 27.6 Nm of torque. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle will get ABS as an option. Expect Honda to price the XRE 300 at Rs. 2 lakhs (ex-showroom). An engine kill switch could be offered!
