The Honda XRE 300 will be launched in India at a price of around Rs. 2 lakhs.
Honda has already started trial production of the Africa Twin which means the entry-level adventure motorcycle, the XRE 300 could also be headed towards the production line. Honda, though hasn’t made any announcements on the India launch of the XRE 300, there are speculations that the bike might be coming to India by this festive season.
The Honda XRE 300 will be the second such adventure bike that India gets to witness, the very first being the Hero Impulse. Viewed head on, the motorcycle looks rugged and rough sporting those all-purpose tyres, spoke wheels, raised front mudguard and of course that long travel suspension.
Powering the Honda XRE 300 is a 291.6cc fuel injected single-cylinder air-cooled engine that comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The motor produces 25.4 HP of max power and 27.6 Nm of torque. ABS will be offered as optional. Expect the bike return a mileage of 25-30 km/l and to be priced at around Rs. 2 lakhs (ex-showroom).
