Honda X-Blade has been launched in the country at a price of Rs. 78,500/-, dispatches have begun.
Unveiled recently at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Honda X-Blade is a premium commuter from the Japanese brand targeted solely towards millennials. Honda has been accepting bookings since last month for the motorcycle at all Honda dealerships across the country. The Honda X-Blade price is Rs. 78,500/- (ex-showroom, Delhi) which makes it around Rs. 2900/- and Rs. 7300/- cheaper than the Honda CB Hornet 160R Standard and CBS variants respectively. This implies that the X-Blade has been positioned between the CB Unicorn 160 and CB Hornet 160R.
Sporting a sharp attire, the X-Blade comes well-equipped with a segment-first all-LED headlamp, dual port exhaust, tall front visor, front disc brake, alloy wheels and a tyre hugger at the rear. However, rear disc brake and ABS are missing from the equipment list probably to arrive at affordable pricing. This also helps to create enough differentiation between the company’s products and avoid chances of cannibalisation.
The Honda X-Blade uses telescopic forks up front and monoshock suspension at the rear. It draws power from a 163cc, air-cooled motor that develops 13.9 HP of power and 13.9 Nm of torque. Shared with other 160cc motorcycles from the brand, the engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Rivalling the Yamaha FZ V2 and Suzuki Gixxer, the motorcycle is available in 5 body colours – Matte Marvel Blue, Matte Marshal Green, Matte Frozen Silver, Pearl Igneous Black and Pearl Spartan Red.
