The X-ADV trademark was filed by Honda in December 2021
Honda has received rights to the X-ADV trademark in India recently, thereby signalling the planned and upcoming launch of the middleweight adventure-scooter in the country.
It is a rather unique proposition, for nothing like it exists in the Indian market at present and it comes with its own identity too.
Featuring twin LED headlamps with DRLs integrated in a butch and aggressive front end, the adventure-scooter has a wide handlebar with handguards, stepped seat, upswept exhaust and a sharp tail.
To look at, the X-ADV simply seems to be a big maxi-scooter, but the motorcycle-esque componentry cannot be unseen either and it comes with enough features too.
There is a 5-inch colour TFT dash with Honda Smartphone Voice Control (HSVC) system, USB Type-C socket, 5 ride modes (Standard, Rain, Gravel, Sport and User) and keyless go.
Offered in various colour options such as Ballistic Black, Grand Prix Red, Harvest Beige, Iridium Grey and Pearl Deep Mud Gray in overseas markets, the X-ADV has a diamond-style steel frame.
It weighs 236 kg, has a 13.2-litre fuel tank and is powered by a 745cc, parallel twin engine making 57.8 BHP at 6750 RPM and 69 Nm at 4750 RPM. The motor is teamed to a 6-speed dual clutch transmission.
Fitted with wire-spoked 17-inch front wheel with 120/70-section tyre and 15-inch rear rim wrapped with 160/60-section rubber, the middleweight machine has 41 mm inverted front forks (153.5 mm travel) and a monoshock in the back (150 mm travel).
Sporting 296 mm dual front discs with radial 4-piston caliper and 240 mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper, the adventure-scooter also has ABS and a 3-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system.
When it gets launched in India, the 2-wheeler will come with a rather premium price tag. For example, in the UK, the model year 2022 X-ADV costs £10,949 (Rs. 11.10 lakhs).
