Honda has launched the WR-V which is a crossover based on the Jazz and it starts at Rs. 7.75 lakhs.
The 2017 Honda WR-V has been launched in India. The WR-V is a crossover which shares a lot of components with the Jazz and it is positioned right between the Jazz and the City in Honda’s Indian portfolio. The WR-V is priced between Rs. 7.75-9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
On the outside, the WR-V gets a lot of changes over the Jazz. The styling has been given a major rejig. The headlamps get LED DRLs while the 16-inch alloys get a diamond cut finish. The WR-V also gets body cladding all around and skid plates on the bumpers along with roof rails.
Moving to the inside, the layout is shared with the Jazz but you get a new touchscreen infotainment system which gets MirrorLink, Bluetooth, USB, Aux-IN and navigation. You also get features like sunroof, automatic climate control, electrically folding and adjustable ORVMs.
The Honda WR-V gets the same set of engines as the Jazz. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre unit producing 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque and it comes mated to a new 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre unit giving out 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. No CVT transmission is offered, unlike the Jazz.
The 2017 Honda WR-V competes with the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and a bunch of other pseudo crossovers.
