The Honda WR-V will be launched in India in March 2017 and it will compete with other pseudo crossovers.
These days a lot of manufacturers have been launching crossover versions of their hatchbacks and this time it is Honda’s turn. Honda has been selling the Jazz premium hatchback and now the Japanese automaker is readying a crossover based on the Jazz. The new vehicle will be called WR-V.
The Honda WR-V will be launched in India in March 2017 and the vehicle is going to make its first public debut at the upcoming Sao Paulo Auto Show. On the outside, the crossover will get new bumpers, chrome grille and redesigned headlamps. The vehicle will also get new alloy wheels which will raise the appeal of the car.
The interiors are likely to be similar to the Jazz but we can expect some minor tweaks just to differentiate between the hatchback and crossover. The Honda WR-V will be offered with the same powertrain options from the Jazz. It will come with a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or CVT gearbox and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Honda WR-V will be priced slightly above the Jazz and it will compete with the Fiat Urban Cross, Toyota Etios Cross, Hyundai i20 Active and Volkswagen Cross Polo.
