The Honda WR-V Crossover has been unveiled and shares a lot with the Jazz. It will be launched in India in 2017.
The Honda WR-V Crossover has made its global debut at the ongoing 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show. This vehicle is based on the Honda Jazz with WR-V meaning Winsome Runabout Vehicle. Developed by Honda’s R&D in Brazil, the WR-V carries a ‘tough and urban’ SUV design. It is set to be launched in South America early next year while an India launch is expected by mid-2017.
The Honda WR-V gets some SUV elements like an increase in ground clearance, black body cladding, new headlamps, new chrome grille, silver skid plates on the front and rear bumpers, bigger wheel arches and a new tail gate with registration plate fitted on the lower side.
The interiors of the Honda WR-V are the same as the Jazz hatchback which means you get a big dashboard with practical storage bins. The cabin too is spacious and we hope Honda includes features like keyless go, push button start and a better touch-screen infotainment system on the WR-V which it omitted on the Jazz.
The Honda WR-V will be powered in India by the same engines that do duty on the Jazz which is the 1.2-litre petrol unit and 1.5-litre diesel powerplant. The vehicle will compete against the likes of the Hyundai i20 Active, Fiat Urban Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo.
