Updates to Honda’s commuter range are purely cosmetic with the mechanicals retained from the outgoing models.
The big unveiling of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India saw the company showcase five of its new and updated products for the 2015 model year. Having launched the third generation Activa ‘3G’ today, the manufacturer also updated its commuter range comprising of the Dream Neo, Dream Yuga and the CB Shine 125 motorcycles. The changes on the bikes are purely cosmetic comprising of new body graphics and colour schemes while the engines and other mechanicals remain untouched.
Comprising of the exterior changes, the Honda Dream Yuga and Dream Neo 110 commuter motorcycles get new stickers, graphics on the front cowl, side panel and fuel tank. The engine is now finished with a new red colour Honda logo that adds a bit of flare to the overall appeal of the motorcycles. The 2015 Dream Yuga, in particular, is now available in three colours including black, black with heavy grey metallic and black with candy glory red.
Coming to the 2015 Dream Neo, the commuter motorcycle gets a new lockable side cowl that offers improved practicality in addition to the new stickers and graphics on the body panels and the red Honda logo on the engine. In terms of paint scheme, the Dream Neo will be available in black with violet stripes and black with red stripes. Both the models are powered by the same 110cc engine tuned to produce 8.25 BHP of power and 8.63 Nm of torque, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. Deliveries for the both Dream series models will commence from the end of this month.
Honda has given its global best selling model the CB Shine a cosmetic update for model year 2015. Updates include new graphics, revised side panels; new visor, new tail light, as well as new alloy wheels. In terms of powertrain, the CB Shine uses a 124.7cc engine that belts out 10.3 PS of power and 10.54 Nm of torque, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The Shine comes equipped with HET for enhanced fuel efficiency and will be available in four colours including maple brown metallic, imperial red metallic, geny grey metallic and black. The 2015 Honda Shine will be available from this March across the country. Honda plans to launch 15 models this year in India with six models already announced.
