After Bajaj Auto, Honda is the most aggressive motorcycle manufacturer in India. The Japanese company has taken India very seriously with a motive of displacing its erstwhile rival from the top. Honda has now announced it plans to debut a new product at the biennial event while also having the largest area of exhibit among 2-wheeler makers. We all know how Honda shocked everyone at last year’s Auto Expo by showcasing an array of products, after all who saw the CBR150R coming? This year won’t be any different.
We broke the news about Honda bringing the CBR500R to India at the 2014 Auto Expo and this bike is sure to grab a lot of attention from motorcycle enthusiasts who want a middle-weight machine. The company will also showcase its updated superbike range comprising of the latest model year vehicles. The CBR300R will be showcased with an India launch in sight for later this year, replacing the CBR250R in the process. Expect a few global models to be showcased for eye candy purpose with no plans of launch anytime soon (like the CBR1000RR SP).
What is most relevant is the new scooter which Honda will showcase. Likely to be called the Activa 125, the all new scooter could also be badged as an Aviator as the company has halted the latter’s production. The TVS Jupiter has really given the current Activa a tough fight and the Indian scooter is selling in good numbers making Honda in need of something exciting to reply to its rivals. If Honda plonks in a 125cc heart, the Swish and Access from Suzuki are going to feel the heat. Honda has been quiet for sometime now as the company is busy plotting a cracker for next month.
