Honda is all set to launch 5 new vehicles in the span of next two years. The 2014 Honda Jazz (also dubbed as FIT internationally) and Honda Mobilio MPV are expected to be part of the initial line-up ready to be launched. Honda intends to showcase these cars at the 2014 Auto Expo in India during the month of February post which it will immediately launch the 2014 Honda Jazz. The MPV Honda Mobilio will be launched sometime during mid-2014. Honda hopes to capture a bigger market share in India with the launch of these cars.
The Honda Jazz in its third generation form will be launched in India next year. The car displays refinement in almost every department including the interiors, exteriors as well as performance. The latest generation oozes aggressive stance as noticed in the pictures. The wheelbase is increased from 2450 mm to 2501 mm. Honda will introduce the Jazz with both petrol and diesel options. The petrol Jazz will sport the 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine (88 PS) while the diesel mill is supposed to sport the 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine currently present on the Honda Amaze which yields a staggering maximum output of 98 BHP and returns a high fuel economy as well. The Jazz will be the key profit player for Honda in the Indian market along with the revised Honda City due for launch in January 2014.
The Brio-based MPV, Honda Mobilio will also be showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. The front end looks similar to the Amaze which is also built based on the Brio platform. The Mobilio MPV has three row seating arrangement and will be available with two engine options. A 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine present in the City will be offered with 120 PS on tap while the 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine will feature as the diesel option. Honda expects to take the market by storm with the launch of the Mobilio. The company intends to dent the sales of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and we can expect the car to be priced in the range of Rs. 8 lakhs to Rs. 12 lakhs. We already seem to think Honda has an ace up its sleeve with this one.
