The two-wheeler arm of Honda is on a product war in India. The Japanese auto giant is launching new products every other month, thereby giving its old partner some real sleepless nights. After updating its complete scooter lineup earlier this year, Honda launched the Trigger 150cc and Dream Neo 110cc motorcycles. We are yet to see either of these bikes on the road but Honda is all set to announce another product for India.
The invite carries the question “ready to fly?” but there is no other details given yet, making it extremely difficult to speculate what is coming. We however feel Honda will launch a powerful scooter as the design on the invite is quite reminiscent of a scooter’s front. We tried to mix and match the butterfly shape but couldn’t get an exact match of what’s coming. Could Honda launch the PCX 150cc scooter or will the company play it safe and bring the Lead 125cc scooter?
The 125cc scooter segment is most likely where Honda wants to be as it doesn’t have a product to compete with the likes of the Suzuki Swish, Mahindra Duro and Piaggio Vespa. Thus a 125cc Honda scooter with around 9 BHP of power and class leading mileage is the need of the hour, equipped with a front disc brake and HET tech. The launch will take place on the 12th of June and as always, we at MotorBeam will bring you live updates and pictures, stay tuned.
According per our friend Gauri Lokare of OnCars.in, the upcoming scooter is called the Activa-i (Source – Twitter).
