Honda will be unveiling the refreshed CB500F at the upcoming EICMA Motor Show in Milan later this month but have no plans of bringing the model to India.
The latest model to go under the scalpel in Honda’s 500cc middle-weight performance family will be the CB500F. The Japanese automaker announced that it will be unveiling the refreshed version of the CB500F at the EICMA Motorcycle Show scheduled to begin on 19th November in Italy. Set to house a host of new concepts and launches at the event, Honda will be bringing its entire lineup for Europe in addition to the new models.
As Honda states, the refreshed CB500F is designed according to the ‘Mechanical and Aggressive’ styling concept, which will be on the lines of the CBR500R unveiled a few weeks back. Expect to see sharp character lines on the street-fighter while the headlight cluster looks more aggressive now compared to the outgoing version. Honda confirmed that the CB500F will be getting LED headlights and tail lights while there will be a newly designed atypical cross-section muffler on the motorbike. The wide split seat set up will be retained but with a more sharper styled tail section.
To be sold only in Europe and North America, the new Honda CB500F will continue to draw power from a 471cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder motor, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes with 41 mm forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. Braking performance on the outgoing model comes from a 320 mm single front and a 240 mm rear disc brake setup, which is likely to be retained. ABS is offered as standard.
In addition to the CB500F, Honda will also unveil the refreshed NC750S street-fighter, limited to Japan and European markets. The motorcycle is said to be developed according to the Deep Mass Forward Proportion and Enhanced Sportiness styling concept, and gets newly design cross-section mufflers. Also new are the LED headlights (optional on European model) and tail lights. The NC750S will also get upgraded with a Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) with new program settings while power will continue from the same 745cc parallel-twin cylinder motor.
