Honda Stylo 160 Scooter Patented In India

Honda Stylo 160 patent design filed in India, launch expected later this year

Honda has recently secured a patent for the Stylo 160 scooter in India along with a range of new high-capacity motorcycles. The Stylo 160 is currently available only in the Indonesian market.

The Honda Stylo 160 is a premium scooter positioned to compete with the likes of the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the upcoming Hero Xoom 160. This new entrant is slightly larger than Honda’s popular Activa model, both in terms of length and width and boasts a longer wheelbase.

The Stylo 160 is designed to appeal to those looking for a stylish and feature-rich two-wheeler. It is powered by a 156.9cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that generates 15.4 HP at 8500 RPM and 13.8 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. The scooter rides on 12-inch wheels and is equipped with dual-channel ABS.

The Stylo 160 comes with several modern features including full LED lighting, digital instrument cluster, keyless system and a USB charging port located inside the centre cubby space. The scooter is available in six colour options including Royal Green, Royal Matte White, Royal Matte Black, Glam Red, Glam Black and Glam Beige.

Honda is well known for its dominance in the scooter segment in India, particularly with its Activa model, which has been a market leader for a considerable time. The introduction of the Stylo 160 signifies Honda’s move towards higher capacity premium scooters, a segment that is gaining traction among Indian consumers.

By bringing the Stylo 160 to India, Honda aims to capitalise on the growing demand for premium scooters, offering an upgrade option for existing scooter users and attracting new customers looking for advanced features and better performance.

The competition in the 160cc scooter segment is set to intensify with the Stylo 160’s entry, as it goes up against the Yamaha Aerox 155 and newcomers like Hero’s Xoom 160.
