Honda Cars India has released new images of the Mobilio as the company is gearing up for the official launch next month. Done up in the shade of metallic white, the image showcases the Mobilio MPV with all the bells and whistles including alloy wheels, fog lamps, reverse camera and body coloured ORVM. The Mobilio also gets a nudge guard on the front bumper and rear bumper. Set to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova, the Mobilio is aimed to provide comfort and space in the form of a stylish MPV targeted towards large families.
Honda has also updated its website with a 360-degree view of the interiors that share several components with the Amaze compact sedan. The dashboard, seats and interior trims come from the Amaze; however, the centre console now features a touchscreen infotainment unit, whereas the conventional audio system will be available on the lower variants. The Mobilio also gets steering mounted controls, cup-holders, bottle storage on the doors and a curved glove box to maximize legroom for the front passenger.
The second row offers 60:40 split seating, while the third row offers 50:50 split seating that helps maximize luggage space. Except the first row, other rows get adjustable headrests. In terms of powertrain, the Mobilio will pack in the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine from the Amaze and the City that produces 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The petrol unit will be the 1.5-litre i-VTEC mill from the City that produces around 119 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission.
Honda has also initiated the dealer and service training of the Mobilio across the country. The launch of the Mobilio has been scheduled during mid-July and the MPV will be produced at the company’s Greater Noida plant. The Mobilio is the third vehicle to launch in the Indian market based on the Brio platform.
