Honda Launches Dream Neo [Live]

Honda has launched another Dream motorcycle today, the Dream Neo, which is very similar to the Dream Yuga. The Dream Neo is the most affordable Honda 2-wheeler in India, priced at Rs. 43,150/-. The Honda Dream Neo sits in the 100-110cc segment which accounts for 50% sales in the Indian 2-wheeler market. The Dream Neo features the same 110cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke engine from the Dream Yuga, producing 8.25 BHP of power at 7500 RPM and 8.63 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The company claims a mileage of 74 km/l. It is also the first motorcycle to feature Honda Eco Technology (HET), which was added by Honda to its scooter range earlier this year.

Honda has offered dual tone graphics on the fuel tank and side panels, which is very Hero like in a way. The pricing clearly target Hero MotoCorp’s Splendor as the Japanese company looks at taking market share away from its erstwhile partner. This Honda mass market motorcycle gets maintenance free battery, viscous air filter, six-spoke alloy wheels, meter console with white circular design, diamond shape headlight, drum brakes (no option of front disc brake), etc. The wheelbase is 1258 mm, while the ground clearance is 179 mm. The single tube diamond frame and the 5-step rear suspension is aimed towards comfort. The Dream Neo is offered in 6 dual tone colours – black with violet stripes, black with red stripes, silver, grey, red and blue.

Honda Dream Neo Price (ex-showroom, Delhi) –

* Kick/Spoke wheels with tuff-up tube – Rs. 43,150/-
* Kick/Alloy with tubeless tyres – Rs. 44,150/-

Read the Honda Dream Yuga Review

The Honda Dream Neo is nothing but a stripped down Dream Yuga. Honda has used the same engine with slightly lesser output. The wheelbase is smaller while the ground clearance has been increased. The pricing plays a key role and the company has ensured it’s very attractive, helping them to lure away buyers from competitors. The Honda Dream Neo is targeted towards people aged between 30-40 years. Dispatches will start in the first week of May. Honda is aiming for over 150 percent growth in the 100-110cc segment with the launch of the Neo. Honda will start production in its third plant from May 2013. The company plans to reach 2500 outlets by the end of this fiscal year.
