Honda has launched the CNG ready Amaze which is basically a version of the car that can be fitted with a CNG kit at the dealer level. It is offered in only one trim.
Honda has just announced the launch of the CNG ready variant of the Amaze which basically isn’t equipped with CNG option from the company but the vehicle is ready to get a CNG kit which can be fitted at the dealer level. It’s obvious that if you buy a CNG ready Amaze, you intend to put a CNG kit on the car. The price of the Honda Amaze CNG is Rs. 6.54 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The vehicle is offered in only one variant which is 1.2 S MT Plus, priced at Rs. 6.00 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) plus Rs. 54,315/- for the CNG kit and its installation which will be done at the dealer level.
The bi-fuel option on the Honda Amaze will surely please the cost conscious even though running on petrol or diesel isn’t as expensive as before due to the drastic reduction in fuel prices caused by drop in global fuel rates. However, fuel prices will rise in the future so those looking in the long term, CNG makes more economical sense than petrol. CNG not only makes the car cheaper on the pocket but is also greener for the environment. Powering the Amaze CNG is a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that generates 88 PS of power and 109 Nm of torque, matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
So what has Honda done to the Amaze to make it CNG ready? The Japanese manufacturer has tweaked the suspension and optimised it for the extra weight of the CNG tank. The company has also included a special wiring harness to ensure top quality while the engine now uses CNG specific components to ensure optimum performance of the powerplant. The CNG model will only be available in cities where CNG fuel is available. The vehicle gets a 2-year standard warranty, just like other Honda cars in India.
