Honda has launched the Brio Automatic in the Indian market. The Brio automatic is available in S(O) and V grades and is the first car in its segment to feature a 5-speed automatic transmission. Other cars in the segment like the Hyundai i10 and Maruti Suzuki A-Star offer a 4-speed automatic option. Honda has also added new variants and revised features in the current variants of the Brio to make the car more appealing to buyers. This is expected to boost demand of the Honda Brio this festive season.

The Japanese automaker has also launched a new variant of the Honda Brio, which is pegged as a value for money offering. The EX variant features a 1 dun audio system with MP3, Aux and USB compatibility, body colored ORVMs, body colored door handles and door sash tape. The S variant of the Brio now gets power adjustable ourside rear view mirrors and front and rear mud guards. The Brio is now offered with ‘Honda Care Maintenance Package (HCMP) which is free periodic maintenance service up to 2-years or 40,000 kms at a cost of Rs. 9996/-.
Honda Brio’s shift lever features 7 positions –
P – Park. Used when parking or starting the engine
R – Reverse. Used when Reversing
N – Neutral. Used when idling
D – Drive. (1st through 5th) Normal driving; starts off in 1st, shifts automatically to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, then 5th, depending on vehicle speed and accelerator pedal position
D3 – Drive (D3). (1st through 3rd) Used for rapid acceleration at highway speeds and general driving, up-hill and down-hill driving; starts off in 1st, shifts automatically to 2nd, then 3rd, depending on vehicle speed and accelerator pedal position.
2 – Second. Used for engine braking or better traction starting off on loose or slippery surfaces; stays in 2nd gear and does not shift up and down.
1 – First. Used for engine braking; stays in 1st gear, does not shift up.
The Honda Brio is powered by the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine which produces 88 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 109 Nm of torque at 4500 RPM. This engine returns an ARAI certified mileage of 16.5 km/l and offers good driveability. The Honda Brio Automatic is a fantastic alternative for our congested city roads.
