Honda India to replace the faulty parts free of charge from 5th November onwards
Honda Cars India has issued a new recall for fuel pump replacements, expanding a prior recall campaign to cover an additional 90,468 units manufactured between September 2017 and June 2018. The models affected include popular vehicles like the Amaze, Brio, BR-V, City, Jazz and the WR-V. The recall aims to address potential issues with defective fuel pump impellers that could lead to engine stalls or startup failures.
This recall follows a similar campaign conducted in June 2020, which impacted 65,651 units for the same fuel pump concern. This latest extension not only covers 90,468 new units but also includes 2204 additional vehicles across various models – Accord, Amaze, Brio, BR-V, City, Civic, Jazz and WR-V—where fuel pumps had been replaced as spare parts in past maintenance sessions. This measure is designed to ensure that even previously repaired vehicles are safeguarded against the fuel pump malfunction.
To facilitate the recall process, Honda has set up a microsite on its official website where customers can check if their car is included in the recall. Vehicle owners can input their vehicle’s 17-character VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to confirm eligibility. Furthermore, customers who received spare fuel pumps from Honda dealerships between June 2017 and October 2023 can also verify their vehicle’s recall status at any Honda showroom.
The recall campaign, which will begin on 5th November, will involve free replacements of the affected parts at authorised Honda dealerships nationwide. Honda plans to reach out individually to affected vehicle owners to ensure a smooth service experience.
This expanded recall underscores Honda’s commitment to preventive safety measures and customer satisfaction, as the automaker works to address potential issues that could affect its vehicles’ performance.
