Honda India has commenced promotional activities for the new generation Jazz premium hatchback that will lock horns with the Hyundai Elite i20.
After bringing back its days of glory with the Amaze and more recently the City C-segment sedan, Honda India is now gearing up to launch the much awaited new generation Jazz in the country in the following weeks and has also commenced the promotional campaign for the same. While the previous generation premium hatchback was ahead of its time paired with a premium price tag and the absence of diesel power, the 2015 model comes loaded with all of the above and will also get a competitive price tag.
Scooping out more space on the inside, the 2015 Honda Jazz is more spacious like its predecessor and will be sharing a host of parts with the City sedan including the switchgear, instrumentation and so on. The Japanese automaker will be bringing the Jazz with a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol motor this time round as well while the highlight will be the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel that powers everything from the Amaze to the City. Transmission options will include the 5-speed manual and CVT automatic variant as well for the petrol variant.
With higher local content going into the model, the 2015 Honda Jazz will be priced aggressively against the competition as it locks horns against the Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki YRA and the likes in the segment. The Jazz is also said to be made available with 16-inch alloy wheels for the top-of-the-line sports variants and will certainly be a segment first. Expected starting price is around the Rs. 5 lakh (ex-showroom) mark on the premium hatchback, Honda has already commenced production of the new Jazz at its Tapukara facility in Rajasthan where it also builds the City.
