Honda Hornet 2.0 has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 1,26,345/- (ex-showroom, Gurugram), marking the entry of the Japanese bikemaker into the 180cc segment.
The manufacturer states that the product has been “conceived to be an international streetfighter” with a new platform and six new patent applications.
Design-wise, the bike is sharp-looking with plenty of creases and lines. There is a new LED headlamp with position lamp, LED blinkers, USD forks in gold colour at the front.
Move to the sides and we can see the bulky but nicely styled tank that can hold up to 12 litres of fuel, a short fairing that extends from it, split seats and a short, while a x-shaped LED tail lamp completes the rear end.
Other key features that the Honda Hornet 2.0 price gets customers include – digital instrument cluster with negative display and five-level brightness adjustment, hazard switch for emergency stops, key insert on tank.
Engine-wise, the Hornet 2.0 gets an air-cooled 184.4cc HET BS6 PGM-Fi engine that puts out 17 HP at 8500 RPM and 16.1 Nm of peak torque at 6000 RPM and is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
Stopping force is provided by dual petal disc brakes (276 mm front, 220 mm rear) with single-channel ABS to bring the 142 kg bike to a halt, while the front USD forks and rear monoshock are designed to keep the rider and pillion comfortable.
Further, the alloy rims are wrapped in 110-section front tyres, while the rear rim gets a wider 140-section rubber.
Moreover, Honda will also be offering a 6-year warranty package (3 years standard plus 3 years optional extended warranty) on the Hornet 2.0 which can be had in four colour schemes, namely – Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Sangria Red Metallic, Matte Axis Grey Metallic and Matte Marvel Blue Metallic.
Starting today the bike will reach dealerships and deliveries will begin from the first week of September.
