Honda has introduced a new range of motorcycles to its American product portfolio. The two-wheeler maker has launched four all-new motorcycles including the 125cc Grom. The Honda Grom showcases distinct styling elements with a sporty and compact appearance. Honda is targeting the amateur and young riders with the Grom. The Grom sits on a compact frame size with low seating, inverted front forks and hydraulic disc brake setup. The Grom features a compact 125cc engine, which is fuel injected and is said to be very torquey, producing around 9 BHP of power.
The Honda Grom featuring an air-cooled, single-cylinder, 125cc motor gets mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. They say that the gearbox works just like any other full-sized bike. The front brake consists of a single 220 mm disc with hydraulic dual-piston caliper, while the rear brake gets equipped with a 190 mm disc with hydraulic single piston caliper. The Grom has a kerb weight of only 102 kgs, which contributes to its sporty characteristics. The unique, compact yet sporty setup on the Honda Grom makes the maneuverability and handling a joy.
There’s even room for a pillion on the compact bike for added practicality. The manufacturer believes that the Honda Grom with its efficient size and affordable price will attract many young buyers. The Honda Grom 125 will be available in America from August this year with only two colors including red and black. Honda will be offering the Grom with a price tag of $2999 (Rs. 1.65 lakhs). We don’t expect Honda to introduce the Grom anytime soon in India as such bikes have little demand in our market.
