Honda Elevate production commences, launch in September

Honda has started the production of Elevate at their Tapukara facility in Rajasthan where they also make Amaze and City sedans. Pre-bookings of the Elevate have started. Price announcement will be done in September and deliveries will commence at the same time.

The Japanese automaker claims that the Elevate has a localisation of more than 90%. If that is the case then we should expect Honda to come up with an aggressive pricing for the compact SUV to heat up the competition.

The Elevate will be offered in the domestic market and will be exported to some other countries as well. India is the first and only country where the car is being manufactured.

It is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 121 BHP and 145 Nm of torque. It is available with CVT automatic and 6-speed manual transmission options.

The manual variant returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.31 km/l while the CVT returns 16.92 km/l. There is no diesel engine on offer and Honda isn’t offering a hybrid powertrain as well with the Elevate.

Some of the features include ADAS with Honda Sensing, 10.25-inch touchscreen, 8-speakers, sunroof, wireless charger, Lane Watch camera, 6 airbags, etc.

Colour options include Phoenix Orange Pearl (new), Obsidian Blue Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic and Meteoroid Gray Metallic.

The Elevate will compete with Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and the likes.
