Honda Elevate is the final production name of the upcoming Creta rival
Honda Elevate it is! The Japanese carmaker has officially revealed the name of their much awaited SUV. Will it elevate the fortunes of the company in India? Only time will tell.
The first teaser and the first official confirmation from Honda about the new SUV came back in January when the carmaker revealed the sketch of the product.
We have been spotting multiple camouflaged test mules as well. After seeing the teaser and the test mules, all we can say is that the new SUV will get styling inspired by the Honda HR-V that is sold in the global markets.
It is based on the modified Amaze platform. It is not a sub 4-metre car, it will be longer than that and compete with a sea of crossovers and midsize SUVs in the market.
Honda will be offering the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC naturally aspirated petrol motor and the 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine from the new City.
The Elevate is also expected to come with ADAS tech. The car is expected to be loaded with features like 360 degree camera, ventilates front seats, wireless smartphone charger, etc.
Production of the Elevate is expected to commence by July and the car is likely to hit the showrooms before the festive season this year.
Honda currently offers only two cars – City and Amaze. This will be their third vehicle in the Indian portfolio.
It will compete with a wide range of cars in the market including Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Tata Harrier, MG Astor and the list is endless!
How do you like the name? Let us know in the comments.
