Honda will be opening new elite Wing World dealerships independent of the regular dealerships in 13 metro cities across the country that will retail the CBR650F.
Honda is organizing is grandiose party of sorts on 4th August in the form of the ‘RevFest’ that will see close to 15,000 participants celebrating the company’s new launches across eight cities simultaneously. With the CBR650F confirmed for launch at the event, the automaker recently also confirmed that there will be multiple introductions at the event, hinting towards more products arriving in the market. However, it is the CBR650F that holds most importance as the newest addition to the middle-weight performance category and bookings have officially commenced at the company owned outlets.
The Honda CBR650F can be booked through the automaker’s dealerships at Dhingra Honda in Delhi and Wing World at Sakinaka, Mumbai. The automaker will be opening its premium ‘Wing World’ dealerships in 11 new cities including Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Indore, Ahmedabad, Pune, Bhubaneshwar, Lucknow and Cochin. Honda has opted for a shop-in-shop retail strategy and the dealerships will get specially trained sales and engineering personnel. Furthermore, the company had earlier stated that the 14 dealerships are part of phase one and it will expand its premium outlets to newer cities in the future.
Showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo last year, the Honda CBR650F uses a 649cc in-line four-cylinder engine producing 87 PS of power and 62 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike rivals a host of offerings on sale in the same segment including the Benelli TNT 600 GT and TNT 600i, Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Z800 as well as the Triumph Street Triple. Pricing will be a key factor for Honda that will decide the success or failure of the middle-weight performance motorcycle.
