Honda’s upcoming middle-weight adventure bike leaked in patents.
Honda CB4X concept bike was showcased last year at the EICMA 2019 show in Milan, Italy. Within a few months of revealing the concept bike, Honda has filed patents for the production version.
The middle-weight adventure motorcycle’s production version details have been leaked in the patent images. In terms of styling, it looks very close to the concept bike.
The Honda CB4X has a sports tourer character likely to come with a 650cc inline-four engine borrowed from the CBR650R with a different tuning. The liquid-cooled, 16-valve, DOHC motor churns out 88.4 HP at 11,500 RPM and 60 Nm at 8000 RPM.
In the international market, it will compete with the likes of Yamaha Tracer 700 and Kawasaki Versys 650.
We expect the Japanese bike maker to officially reveal the production bike in the coming months with specs and features. Some unique elements of the ADV includes discreet headlights, 4×2 exhaust system, muscular fuel tank with a futuristic tail design.
Expect it to be offered with latest electronics including riding modes and rider assistant tech. There will be an all-digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity on offer as showcased in the concept bike.
While launch timeline is not confirmed yet, it is likely to go on sale in the international market later this year or early next year. India launch might be possible in the near future with their new premium bike channel, Honda Big Wing.
