Honda recently launched the CB Twister 250 for the Brazilian market. It makes for an ideal rival to the Yamaha FZ25.
Few weeks ago, Yamaha launched the FZ25, as the name suggests, the bike gets a 250cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. Currently the Yamaha FZ25 has no direct rival as there are no bikes in India falling under the naked motorcycle category in the 250cc segment. Honda recently launched the CB Twister 250 in Brazil, if this bike is launched in India, it will provide direct competition to the Yamaha FZ25. The Honda CB Twister 250 can even run on petrol + ethanol.
Coming to the looks of the Honda CB Twister 250, the motorcycle gets LED tail lamps, an all digital instrument console, discs at both ends and even comes with dual-channel ABS.
The Honda CB Twister 250 is powered by a 249.5cc OHC, single cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. The motorbike produces 22.4 BHP of max power at 7500 RPM and 22.4 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM, these figures are for the ethanol model. The petrol motor produces 22.6 BHP at 7500 RPM and 22.8 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM, the mill comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. These figures are greater when compared to that of the Yamaha FZ25.
The length of the Twiter 250 is 2063 mm, its width is 753 mm and has a height of 1072 mm. The wheelbase is 1386 mm. The quarter-litre motorcycle comes with a decent ground clearance of 192 mm. The Honda CB Twister 250 weighs 137 kgs for the ABS variant (2 kgs less for the non-ABS model).
The bike uses a diamond frame chassis, it gets 130 mm telescopic forks at the front and a 108 mm monoshock at the rear. The front disc is of the size 276 mm and the rear disc measures 220 mm. The Twister 250 uses 110/70/17 section tyre at the front and a 140/70/17 section tyre at the rear, this is the same as the FZ25. The bike has a large 16.5-litre fuel tank.
Honda has no plans of launching the CB Twister 250 in India. If it plans to do so, the competition in the 250cc segment will only become more interesting.
