Honda CB Hornet 160R ABS becomes the second Honda motorcycle to feature ABS after the CBR250R.
After mediocre performance of the Dazzler and Trigger in India, Honda is at ease seeing the CB Hornet 160R get popularity in the premium motorcycle segment. At the 2018 Auto Expo, the Japanese giant has showcased an updated version of the motorcycle along with 10 other products. However, the Honda CB Hornet 160R is equipped with a single-channel ABS as opposed to the superior dual-channel unit seen on the CBR250R.
Starting with visual enhancements, first up is the segment-first all-LED headlamp with Hornet insignia on the bezel. The bike now gets revised body graphics to accentuate its muscular design along with the addition of a new paint scheme – Dazzle Yellow Metallic – to the existing colour palette. It is powered by the same 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 14.9 HP of power at 8500 RPM and 14.5 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM.
The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Honda has changed the instrument cluster backlight to Cool Blue and added hazard lamp functionality. The bike has a ground clearance of 164 mm and offers a 276 mm front petal disc brake with an optional 220 mm rear disc brake in place of standard 130 mm drum unit. Riding on telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, the CB Hornet 160R will be made available in 4 variants – Standard, CBS, ABS and ABS Deluxe.
