Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India Limited (HMSI) is going to bring one of the most favourite models among bikers, the CBR600F to the Indian market and may likely showcase it at the upcoming 2012 Delhi Auto Expo to be held from 7th to 11th January 2012. The Honda CBR600F is powered by a 599cc liquid cooled DOHC 4 stroke engine that produces a power of 100.6 BHP and delivers a torque of 47.2 ft-lb. With a seat height of 800mm and a fuel tank capacity of over 19 litres, the bike just weighs about 194 kgs. It is designed around an aluminium spine frame and swingarm chassis and gets front and rear adjustable suspension for preload and damping. The bike rides on 120/70 X 17 tires at the front and 180/55 X 17 tires at the rear. Stopping power is provided by 296 mm twin discs with 3 piston calipers at the front and 245mm disc with single piston calliper at the back.
The origin of the bike dates back to 2007 when Honda decided to take the supersport CBR6600RR and develop another sibling of it using some old tried and tested parts like the CB600F Horner chassis. Currently built at Honda’s manufacturing facility in Italy, the bike has been one of the most loved motorcycles among the riders because of its stunning looks, comfortable ride and amazing handling prowess. The 2011 CBR600F gets an additional safety technology, Honda’s C-ABS which is present in the CBR250R as well. With other players like Kawasaki and Hyosung already in this segment competing each other, Honda is sure to get some attention if it can price the bike very aptly.
