Honda Amaze introductory price is applicable for the first 20,000 bookings only; India launch on 16th May.
Unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo in February, the second-gen Honda Amaze is due for India launch next month. Most of the details about the car are already known including the specifications, powertrain options and features while a media drive was also conducted recently. A company official has now confirmed that Honda will offer a special introductory price to the first 20,000 customers for having booked their Amaze without knowing about the price.
The discount amount for initial 20,000 bookings hasn’t been disclosed. Looking forward to the official launch on 16th May, Honda expects a huge surge in demand for the compact sedan. The initial batch will be manufactured at Honda’s Tapukara facility in Rajasthan. Depending on market response, production will be shared with the company’s other plant in Greater Noida as well.
The 2018 Honda Amaze is powered by 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines, both of which come with an option of a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. There have been thorough exterior and interior changes as compared to the outgoing model and the new car promises to offer improved feel, space and features.
Currently, the Honda City, Jazz, WR-V and BR-V are manufactured at the Tapukara plant. Final copies of the outgoing Amaze rolled out from the company’s Greater Noida plant while reports state that production was divided among both the plants in times of peak demand. The new Amaze will go against the likes of Maruti Dzire, Ford Aspire and Hyundai Xcent primarily.
