More Details On Honda Amaze Surface

Indian buyers are eagerly waiting for the launch of the first diesel Honda, the Amaze. The launch is about to happen in the first week of April with deliveries starting from the second week of April 2013. It will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire and Toyota Etios. The Honda Amaze measures less than 4-metres in length and will be launched with two engine options including a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine with an expected power output of 85-90 BHP and the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine from the Brio hatchback with 87 BHP of power.

The 1.5-litre diesel engine claims ARAI fuel efficiency in the range of 23 km/l. The 1.2-litre petrol engine will come mated to an option of an automatic transmission, while the diesel engine will only be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Amaze has a 165 mm of ground clearance with a turning radius of 4.6 metres. A new top of the line VX variant will be offered with the Amaze, which is also going to be added as a top trim on the Brio hatchback in April. The Amaze will feature 14-inch, 8-spoke alloy wheels with a tyre size of 175/65 R14.

There will be no automatic climate control system on the Honda Amaze like its elder sibling, the Honda City. Key features for the Amaze include driver seat height adjust, rear demister, ORVMs with integrated indicators, rear armrest with cup holders, seats with integrated headrests, front chrome grille and rear chrome garnish. For safety features, the vehicle will come equipped with dual airbags, ABS and EBD. Color options include Black, Silver, White, Azure Grey and Blue. Some dealerships have started pre-bookings at Rs. 25,000/-. Expect a starting price of Rs. 5.5 lakhs.
