Honda Amaze being offered with CNG kit at select dealerships to boost sales
Honda prospective car buyers have a new option to consider with the introduction of CNG kits for the Honda Amaze sedan at select dealerships. This move aims to cater to customers seeking the benefits of CNG-powered vehicles, aligning with the trend observed across the compact sedan segment.
Interested buyers can now opt for a CNG kit installation on manual variants of the Honda Amaze, enhancing the sedan’s appeal to eco conscious consumers. The cost for this additional feature ranges from Rs. 75,000/- to Rs. 85,000/-, offering a viable alternative for those prioritising fuel efficiency and lower running costs.
The decision to offer aftermarket CNG fitment underscores dealerships’ efforts to meet the evolving demands of the market, especially as competitors in the segment provide factory-fitted CNG options. The inclusion of a one-year warranty on the CNG installation further assures customers of the reliability and quality of the upgrade.
Notably, the CNG kit fitted in the Honda Amaze is sourced from the Lovato brand, known for its performance and durability in the aftermarket segment. This partnership enhances confidence in the retrofitting process and ensures optimal performance for CNG-equipped Amaze models.
As of now, the Honda Amaze is available in four variants: E, S, VX and VX Elite Edition, with prices ranging from Rs. 7.28 lakhs to Rs. 10.04 lakhs (ex-showroom). The sedan features a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine delivering 89 BHP and 110 Nm of peak torque, mated to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The CNG kit will be offered with the manual transmission variants only.
While dealerships across the country have commenced sales of the Honda Amaze with CNG kits, the automaker has not officially announced this option. However, with the sedan scheduled for a new generation later this year, industry observers anticipate the CNG option to be integrated into the lineup officially, expanding the choices for consumers.
