Honda Amaze launched with both petrol and diesel BS6 compliant engines.
Honda has launched the Amaze with BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engine options ahead of the April deadline. The Honda Amaze is the first BS6 compliant diesel vehicle from the Japanese carmaker’s stable.
The Honda Amaze BS6 is priced from Rs. 6.09 lakhs (ex-showroom). Surprisingly there are no changes in the power and torque output of the BS6 model. It is powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both the engines continue to offer manual and CVT transmission options.
The BS6 compliant 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine produces 90 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 110 Nm of torque at 4800 RPM. The petrol manual version returns a claimed efficiency of 18.6 km/l while the CVT petrol returns 18.3 km/l.
The BS6 compliant 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine with manual gearbox produces 100 PS at 3600 RPM and 200 Nm at 1750 RPM which returns 24.7 km/l fuel efficiency. In CVT guise the diesel engine produces 80 PS at 3600 RPM and 160 Nm at 1750 RPM which returns 21 km/l.
The Japanese carmaker has applied exhaust gas after-treatment system with NSC (NOx Storage Catalyst) and DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) to meet the target of particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission with the diesel engine. Honda’s Silver Thin Coated DPF (STC-DPF) enables reduction of PM combustion time by 40 percent compared to the conventional DPF.
