Honda ADV 160 Expected Launch In 2026

Honda Planning To Launch ADV160 In The Indian Market By 2026

Honda has been dominating the scooter market with their Activa for ages. However, the Japanese automaker plans to increase its model portfolio by introducing a maxi scooter. They already sell the ADV160 in other South East Asian Markets codenamed K4LA. Honda plans to bring this scooter to compete with the likes of Hero Xoom 160 in the coming years.

Engine

The Honda ADV160 is powered by a 157cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 16 HP at 8500 RPM and 14.7 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. If this maxi scooter is launched in India, it will be the only scooter other than the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160 to be powered by a Liquid-Cooled engine!

Practicality

The maxi scooter chassis combination doesn’t allow for storage space in the floorboard. Unfortunately, that is the case with the ADV160 owing to its underborne frame. However, in terms of practicality, the ADV160 offers 27 litres of under-seat storage.

Suspension

The suspension of the ADV160 comprises of a 31mm telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers, supplied by Showa. The braking duties are handled by 240mm front discs and 130mm rear drums. The Honda also comes with a single-channel ABS, aiding safety. A point of difference between the Honda ADV160 and its two rivals is that the wheel size is 13/14 inches at front and rear whereas it is 14 inches on both ends on the Aerox 155 and Xoom 160.

Market Competition

The ADV160 features a 780mm seat height which will be an appreciated aspect for people with average height. The 165mm ground clearance should be plenty to tackle the rough road conditions our country offers. The ADV160 weighs 133 kg which makes it heavier than the Aerox 155 by 7 kg and 9 kg lighter than the Xoom 160. However, the fuel capacity is the highest as compared to the two at 8.1 litres.

Features

Honda is known for giving a unique design package for India-specific models and it remains to be seen whether it will do it in the case of ADV160. The Honda is a well-equipped maxi scooter. It features a digital dash, keyless ignition, LED lighting, adjustable windscreen and a USB Charger.

Pricing Details

In terms of pricing, the ADV160 is on sale Philippines, a price that translates to Rs. 2.5 lakhs. That makes it comparable to the scooters such as Yamaha NMax. However, Honda hasn’t revealed how will it price the ADV160 in the Indian Market. It is safe to assume that it will need to be priced to either undercut or match the pricing to compete accordingly.
