Honda Activa to get bluetooth smartphone connectivity soon
Honda is preparing to launch a new variant of Activa that will get smartphone connectivity features via bluetooth. The new variant of the scooter will also get more tech on offer.
The updated model won’t be called Activa 7G and instead there will be a new variant of the Activa 6G that will get all the updates. The scooter is expected to launch in the festive season of this year.
The current analogue instrument cluster will be replaced by a new fully digital instrument console. Features like call/SMS alerts and phone battery status will be offered in the new display. We expect the scooter to come with turn-by-turn navigation system also.
Honda offers RoadSync connectivity and Honda Smartphone Voice Control System (HSVCS) in some of their premium motorcycles. However, these connectivity features are not expected to come with the Activa.
Honda will offer a simple bluetooth smartphone connectivity for the users to make it more convenient considering the widespread use of such features in the competition.
The new variant of the Activa 6G will compete directly with the TVS Jupiter ZX SmartXonnect. We expect the scooter to come with a price tag of Rs. 86,000/- (ex-showroom).
