The next gen Honda Activa is expected to feature some cosmetic and mechanical upgrades.
Honda has recently upgraded the Grazia automatic scooter in India and now they are currently working on the new generation of the Activa. The Honda Activa is the largest selling automatic scooter in India. The new generation Activa was recently spotted on test. The scooter was spotted by MotorBeam reader Shaunak Sarpotdar.
The next generation Honda Activa which could also be dubbed as the Activa 6G is expected to feature cosmetic and a few mechanical changes as well. The Activa on test is carrying heavy camouflage but some changes are noticeable.
The Honda Activa 6G will feature a new headlamp design which will differ from the outgoing model. The headlamp could also get LED DRLs. The front gets telescopic forks and a disc brake setup while the rear seems of be a drum brake unit. Honda will also offer CBS as per the safety norms. The instrument cluster design is also new and it has a digital readout for fuel and a trip meter reading as well. At the rear, the grab-rails and the tail section seem to be carried from the current generation of the Activa.
The Honda Activa is powered by a 109.19cc, air-cooled engine which makes 7.96 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 9 Nm of torque coming in at 5500 RPM and Honda is likely to use the same engine from the current generation. However, the engine is a BS4 unit which will be upgraded to BS6 for the upcoming emission norms. The wheels on the test mule are 10-inches in size which are likely to get upgraded to alloys as opposed to the current generation Activa.
