HMSI plans to introduce 5 new models by the next fiscal year.
Honda India has announced that it aims to increase its stronghold in the entry-level premium segment, that includes bikes with engine above 160cc. The company is working on a new 200cc platform and plans to introduce 5 new models by the next fiscal year. The Japanese maker plans to bring in motorcycles starting from 160cc, followed by 200cc and a 300cc. On top of that, HMSI will continue to make mass segment motorcycles.
The first bike based on Honda’s new 200cc platform is expected to be available in early 2021. It is speculated that the new 200cc platform will be air-cooled with power ranging between 20 PS and 23 PS. The result will be a street bike, a faired one and also an off-roader/adventure motorcycle.
As of now, the Japanese two-wheeler maker offers Livo and Dream series and Shine in the 110cc and 125cc bike segments respectively.
