Hero Xtreme 200S India launch scheduled to happen around the 2018 Auto Expo.
At the unveiling of the RR 450 rally bike, Hero has confirmed that they are gearing up to introduce the Xtreme 200S, probably before the 2018 Auto Expo. The motorcycle was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and finally, two years later is set to be launched in the Indian market. Officials have revealed that a new product will be launched in the coming week.
The Hero Xtreme 200S uses a 200cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine with air-cooling that makes 18.34 HP of power and 17.2 Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. The bike manages with a carburettor as the 200cc mill doesn’t feature fuel injection (FI). The vehicle comes with standard telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear (second Hero bike to get a rear monoshock after the Impulse). ABS is also likely to be offered.
The Indian automaker has also confirmed that in the years to come, they will be focusing on the commuter (between 110cc-150cc) and scooter segments. Hero also commented that the production version of the HX250R will not be launched in India as the 250cc market has more or less disappeared and moved to 300cc. This is the major reason why Hero MotoCorp’s HX250R could not see the light of the day, apparently. However, the company isn’t stopping on that and has planned for a bigger and advanced bike.
Hero has planned to bring in the production version of the XPulse by mid-2018. The off-roader was unveiled at the 2017 EICMA in concept guise. The motorcycle is expected to come powered by a 200cc single-cylinder engine which is also the same motor doing duty in the upcoming Xtreme 200S.
