Hero MotoCorp reveals the pricing strategy for its upcoming Xtreme 200R and XPulse.
Pricing strategy for the Hero Xtreme 200R and XPulse has been revealed by the manufacturer, according to which both the motorcycles are likely to be priced under Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom). Hero MotoCorp says that this is a year for them to focus on the growing premium motorcycles segment, especially where the price of products is up to Rs. 1 lakh because 70% of the premium motorcycles sold in India are priced under Rs. 1 lakh. Hence, they have decided to introduce the Xtreme 200R and the XPulse in the market first.
The Xtreme 200R and the XPulse also make for a strong business case as the segment they compete in is primarily volume-driven. While the former is expected to be launched in India in the coming months, the latter is an adventure tourer bike that is likely to make it to India by this festive season. Apart from the Xtreme 200R and the XPulse, the homegrown automaker is also reportedly working on new-generation Karizmas. The Karizma range was discontinued as the bikes were not upgraded to meet BS-4 norms.
However, the official website of the company still lists the Karizma ZMR in spite of the bike no longer being available in the dealerships. If sources are to be believed, Hero is also working on the production version of the XF3R. Launch of the TVS Apache RR 310 has probably made Hero sit up and take notice! Once the core premium segment is addressed, Hero will then look at entering the middleweight segment, which is currently dominated by Royal Enfield.
