Hero MotoCorp has launched the Xtreme 160R 100 million edition with a price tag of Rs. 1,08,750/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Costing Rs. 1800/- more than the dual disc brake variant, the Xtreme 160R 100 million celebration edition comes with a Red with White paint scheme, wherein the latter replaces the black sections on the bodywork.
The bike manufacturer achieved the 100 million production units milestone back in January and, incidentally, the 100 millionth 2-wheeler was the Xtreme 160R.
Apart from the Xtreme 160R, 100 million celebration editions of the Destini 125, Glamour, Maestro Edge 110, Passion Pro and Splendor Plus will also be launched by the manufacturer.
If the Hero Xtreme 160R 100 million edition price is anything to go by, the celebratory edition of the above mentioned 2-wheelers will also cost about Rs. 1800/- more than their regular variants.
Apart from the special paintwork, no mechanical or bodywork changes will be made to the vehicles. In the case of the Xtreme 160R, the bike continues to be offered with full-LED lighting, a LCD digital instrument cluster, side stand engine cut off, among other features.
Powered by a 163cc air-cooled motor that puts out 15 BHP and 14 Nm of torque, the motorcycle comes with a 5-speed gearbox. It weighs 139.5 kg for the double disc variant and also features single channel ABS.
Rivals to the motorcycle include the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V that was recently upgraded.
Hero also plans to launch 10 new models every year until 2025, in order to cement its position as the leader of the Indian 2-wheeler market.
