Hero Xpulse 210 Spotted Testing, Launch Later This Year

Hero Xpulse 210 spotted testing featuring Hero Karizma’s 210cc engine

Hero MotoCorp is currently testing a new iteration of the Xpulse, rumoured to be named the Hero Xpulse 210. This new model is expected to feature a liquid-cooled engine, similar to the one used in the recently launched Karizma XMR. Over the past few years, several Xpulse test mules have been seen with various engines but this is the first time the Karizma XMR’s 210cc liquid-cooled unit has been observed in an Xpulse model.

The Xpulse 210 is set to feature the engine from the Karizma XMR which produces 25.5 HP and 20.4 Nm of torque. This is a significant upgrade from the current Xpulse 200 4V’s air/oil cooled engine, which delivers 19.1 HP and 17.35 Nm of torque. The new engine promises a substantial boost in performance.

The introduction of the Xpulse 210 could mark the end of the current Xpulse 200 model. This approach mirrors Royal Enfield’s transition from the Himalayan 411 to the 450, suggesting that Hero MotoCorp might follow a similar path by phasing out the older model.

The shift from an air/oil cooled engine to a liquid-cooled unit will likely necessitate significant changes to the bike’s chassis. The spy images also suggest possible updates to the bodywork, including a potentially larger fuel tank compared to the current model’s 13-litre capacity. The test bike featured an upswept exhaust, differing from the side-mounted exhaust on the Karizma XMR, indicating design and functional distinctions between the two models.

The test mule was equipped with hard panniers, hinting that Hero MotoCorp might offer a range of homologated accessories with the new Xpulse 210. This aligns with the brand’s strategy to cater to adventure and touring enthusiasts.

The Hero Xpulse 210 is anticipated to launch by the end of 2024. Given the upgrades and new features, the bike is expected to carry a higher price tag compared to the current Xpulse 200, which is priced between Rs. 1.47 lakhs and Rs. 1.55 lakhs (ex-showroom).

As the Hero Xpulse 210 moves closer to its expected launch, more details about its specifications and features are likely to emerge. This new model could represent a significant evolution in the Xpulse lineup, offering a more powerful and capable option for adventure motorcycling enthusiasts.
