Hero XPulse 200 Launch Delayed To March 2019

The concept was revealed at EICMA 2017, delayed by a year

The Hero XPulse 200 will be launched in March 2019

Indian fans who have been waiting for launch news about the Hero XPulse 200 have been let down. The launch of the much awaited adventure motorbike has been further pushed to March 2019. The bike was showcased at the EICMA 2017, more than a year ago.

The company responded to its fans by saying that it has had to change its focus to promoting the Xtreme 200R across the country before they can bring in another product. The company has also restructured its upcoming launches. The Destini 125 followed the launch of the Xtreme 200R and will be followed by the launch of the Maestro Edge 125. The XPulse 200 has been put on the sidelines till March 2019, for now.

The Hero XPulse uses the same 200cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine as the Xtreme 200R. However, the gearing has been fine-tuned and the bike is able to draw out a maximum power of 18.4 HP and a peak torque of 17.1 Nm. These tunings will further add to the overall off-roading biker experience. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox which provides a mileage of 32 km/l. The Hero XPulse 200 also has a large fuel tank which can hold 14-litres.

The off-road style front mudguard, visor, hand guards, and engine sump guard give the feel of a true adventure biking beast. The suspension duty is performed by forks with 190 mm of travel at the front and a 10-step adjustable monoshock at the rear with 170 mm of travel. The ground clearance of the bike is 200 mm which will allow for better control in an off-road track.

The bike is expected to be priced in the whereabouts of Rs. 1 lakh. At this price, there are no rivals to the bike and it will dominate its segment for the years to come. Hero MotoCorp recently also revealed the XPulse 200T this year in Milan at the EICMA 2018. The 200cc XPulse twins are expected to be priced very competitively in India.
