Hero Xoom 160 teased, revealing new design and adventure oriented character
Milan, Italy is about to witness the unveiling of a highly anticipated scooter at this year’s EICMA show and Hero MotoCorp has left no stone unturned in creating a buzz around it.
The Indian two-wheeler maker recently teased its new scooter on various social media platforms, giving enthusiasts a sneak peek at what’s to come. The upcoming scooter, named the Hero Xoom 160 is likely to be a unique proposition in its segment.
Looking at the teaser image it’s evident that the Xoom 160 is not your average scooter. Instead it seems to be a maxi scooter infused with adventure oriented features. The design elements showcased in the teaser suggest a robust and versatile character.
The bulky front apron and windscreen are characteristic of maxi scooters, providing riders with wind protection and more comfort. However, the tall stance, large wheels and long travel suspension hint at an adventure scooter segment. The beefy exhaust canister further adds to the scooter’s rugged appearance.
Alloy wheels seem to be around 14-inches in size, similar to scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SR 160. Additionally, the Xoom 160 seems to be based on a frame with a centre spine which provides structural strength but it might limit the storage space in the front of the scooter.
Although specifications of the engine are yet to be disclosed, it is expected that Hero MotoCorp will utilise a derivative of the Xtreme 160R 4V’s engine for the Xoom 160.
The official unveiling of the Hero Xoom 160 is expected to take place at EICMA 2023. However, the launch in the Indian market is expected a few months later. Once it hits the Indian roads, the Xoom 160 will compete with rivals such as the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the Aprilia SR 160.
