Hero Super Splendor gets new gloss and matte black shades, the new colours offer a sporty look to the 125 cc commuter
Hero will soon launch 2 new black shades for the popular Super Splendor 125 cc bike. The models have already arrived at the dealerships with select ones even starting unofficial bookings. The new colours offer a fresh and sporty look to the commuter.
The new shades include gloss black and matte black. While the official names of the colours are not known yet, the gloss black is likely to be called Canvas Black. It sports a premium finish with a good dose of chrome everywhere.
Even the lettering is of 3D chrome. The headlight and instrument cluster surround sport chrome finish. The rear suspension and fuel cap get a metallic silver finish like the existing model.
The engine is painted with black while the crank case gets a metallic grey finish oozing a lot of premiumness with excellent fit and finish. The gloss black shade looks like a proper well-built commuter like the Honda Unicorn and will surely impress middle-age people.
The matte black shade, on the other hand, will attract the youth who want a sporty commuter for errands. It gets chrome finish only for the lettering and there’s matte black everywhere else. Even the headlight surround gets a matte black finish.
The bike sits on a diamond frame with engine as a stressed member. Power comes from a 124.7 cc single cylinder fuel injected engine that exerts 10.7 HP at 7500 RPM and 10.6 Nm at 6000 RPM. The engine is known for its peppiness in the city.
The ground clearance is 180 mm while the seat height is 799 mm, a perfect combination for Indian conditions. The kerb weight would be 123 kg.
As far as features go, the semi digital meter displays all vital data including a side stand warning. There’s a USB charger, i3s tech for fuel saving, and 45 mm longer seat.
The bike is likely to retain the same ex-showroom price that starts from Rs. 77,200/- and goes up to Rs. 81,100/-
