The new 110cc commuter motorcycle will feature Hero’s self-developed engine and is expected to offer class leading output and fuel efficiency figures.
2015 will be a very interesting year for Hero MotoCorp as the company has a slew of new launches in the pipeline that will feature with a range of updates. While the company’s new flagship the HX250R is highly anticipated, the Indian two-wheeler giant hasn’t forgotten about the commuter space and will be coming with a range of new offerings next year that include two new scooters and motorcycles each in the mass market (we reported about it a couple of weeks back HERE). Now the first spy shot of the upcoming 110cc motorcycle has emerged online which is a Passion Pro and could be a facelift to it (no changes to the Passion xPro can be done as per Hero’s contract with Honda).
While details on this upcoming model are scarce, the new bike will be joining the company’s existing range and is most likely to be a sporty commuter targeted at younger buyers. As seen in the spy shot, the bike gets 5-spoke alloy wheels, elongated seat and a large tail lamp. The design is expected to take the more conventional route but with youth oriented styling. In terms of suspension set-up, this 110cc Hero bike will feature telescopic front forks, while the hydraulic shock absorbers will do duty at the rear.
In addition, the new Hero commuter will be one of the first bikes from Hero to feature the company’s self-developed 110cc engine, unlike its older commuters that continue to use the Honda developed engines. The new motor will also find purpose on the upcoming Dash scooter and will subsequently feature on a range of upcoming products. It is still not clear if Hero will be adding the new commuter to the Passion series or an all-new name is on the cards. In all cases, the company’s range is only going to expand further.
