The Splendor Pro Classic and Passion Pro TR were showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo and cater to a niche segment. They were launched in certain cities in the past few weeks but are now available across all Hero dealerships.
Making most of the festive season, Hero MotorCorp has launched the Splendor Pro Classic cafe racer styled motorcycle and the Passion Pro TR on-road-off-road motorcycle across India. In a bid to achieve its target of selling 6 lakh units this festive season, the new launches are expected to bring in decent volumes due to the novelty they offer in their respective segments. Both the bikes were first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year and were launched in certain parts of the country initially.
Starting with the Hero Splendor Pro Classic, the cafe racer styled Splendor is an interesting take on design meets function. A one of a kind in its segment, the Splendor Pro Classic retains the same mechanicals as the regular Splendor but sports a comprehensively revised design and a single seat. The old school styling includes café cowl, sporty handle bar, classic round headlight and tail light and a classic round instrument console. The finishing comes with chrome enhanced parts like the front and rear fenders, winkers, suspension cover and the old round shaped rear view mirrors that add to the classic look of the motorcycle.
Claimed to be India’s first 100cc cafe racer, the Splendor Pro Classic is powered by an air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder motor that produces 8.36 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 8.05 Nm of torque at 5000 RPM, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. Hero is offering the Splendor Pro Classic in a choice of two colours namely Sold Maroon and Carbon Black. Available across all dealerships, the cafe racer has been moderately priced at Rs. 48,650/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), Rs. 50,833/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai), Rs. 49,588/- (ex-showroom, Chennai), Rs. 49,472/- (ex-showroom, Kolkata) and Rs. 49,438/- (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
The Hero Passion Pro TR on the other hand is an on-off road bike that gets several rugged bits to make sure the go anywhere capabilities are enhanced in every way possible. The Passion Pro TR gets sturdy handlebars with cross brace, high front fender with hugger, knee pad for better grip, headlight grille, hand guards for added protection, fuel tank pads, bash plate to shield engine, designer knuckle guard and special tyre tread for improved grip.
Coming to the powertrain, the Passion Pro TR comes with a 100cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine that produces 7.7 BHP of power at 7500 RPM and 8 Nm of torque at 4500 RPM, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. Hero is offering the motorcycle with a choice of 3 colours including Electric Red, Sports Red and Black with Sports Red. Available pan India, the on-off roader has been priced at Rs. 51,550/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), Rs. 54,039/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai), Rs. 53,018/- (ex-showroom, Chennai), Rs. 53,514/- (ex-showroom, Kolkata) and Rs. 53,143/- (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
