Hero Splendor Plus Updated, Rs. 2000 More Expensive Than Before
Hero has updated the range of the brand’s top seller, the Splendor Plus. The Splendor Plus comes in 5 variants, which are compliant with the new OBD2B emission norms. This range offers a variety of colour options which suit the tastes of a large audience.
Variant Changes
The base variant is the Splendor Xtec Drum, is priced Rs. 2000 more than before, now starting at Rs. 79,000 (ex-showroom). The top-spec Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 now starts at Rs. 85,500 (ex-showroom). The top-spec Splendor Plus gets LED lights and an instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.
Engine
The updated Splendor is powered by the 97cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 8 HP and 8 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 4-speed gearbox. With the regulatory compliance, there is no change in power and torque figures. However, fuel economy figures may see a positive improvement.
Outlook
The new Splendor Plus sees a price hike that may negatively impact the sales performance of the commuter. A slight price can also mean shifting consumer preferences. There is also stiff competition from the likes of Honda Shine 100, Bajaj Platina 110 and much more.
