Hero Silently Introduces 2015 Passion Pro, Updates Website

Hero has updated the 2015 Passion Pro by giving it more power in addition to cosmetic changes and the addition of a new trendy brown shade on the colour palette.

The 2015 Hero Passion Pro gets new indicators, mudguard, visor, alloys among other changes

The Passion Pro is one of the more popular offerings from Hero after the Splendor series and was also the third best-selling two-wheeler in the country during the previous financial year (2014-15). With the last update coming in early 2014, Hero MotoCorp has silently updated its website with the new Passion Pro for the 2015 model year as it gets tweaked styling, new metallic brown shade and an updated powertrain on offer with a marginal bump in output (the power increase was actually done in September 2014). Our alert reader Guru Prasad provided us with the hat tip on the same while active MotorBeam commentator, Vikas has helped us detail out the changes.

Starting with the cosmetic updates, the 2015 Hero Passion Pro gets new indicators, front mudguard, visor, updated black cladding at the sides, new fibre petrol tap as well as a new black exhaust cover. The bike also gets bar weights for the handle that have been carried over from the Passion xPro while the tail light has been upgraded to a LED unit. The 2015 Passion Pro rides on new 6-spoke alloy wheels and the finishing touch comes from the new graphics that induce a fresh appeal.

Hero MotoCorp has also updated the 97.2cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine on the 2015 Passion Pro that now produces 8.36 PS of power at 8000 RPM (up from the 7.8 PS earlier) and 8.05 Nm at 5000 RPM (same torque was earlier produced at 4500 RPM), paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The suspension setup comprises of telescopic forks up front and hydraulic shocks at the rear while braking performance is handled by the 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear with the top-end version coming equipped with a 240 mm front disc brake.

Hero MotoCorp sold 13,41,424 units of the Passion range during the last fiscal and given the popularity, the model will continue to be a strong player this year as well, offering low cost of ownership. With strong sales coming from the rural market, the changes are sure to keep the motorcycle fresh amidst competition that includes the TVS Star City+, Honda Dream Yuga, Yamaha YBR 110 and Bajaj Platina 100 ES.
