Hero MotoCorp has unveiled its updated lineup of bikes in an event in Gurgaon today. We are reporting live from the event which Hero calls as a showcase of technological excellence and innovation. India’s largest 2-wheeler manufacturer has unveiled 15 new offerings including the updated Splendor i-Smart, Xtreme, Pleasure, Karizma R and Karizma ZMR. These bikes feature next-gen features like i3S, electronic immobiliser and integrated braking system (IBS).
Hero MotoCorp says that the 125cc segment is growing and the company has 40% market share in it (thanks to the Glamour). The new HF Dawn and HF Delux are Bajaj Boxer challengers. The new Splendor Pro has been introduced and all these bikes feature safe braking. Other updates include the 125cc Super Splendor, Passion Pro, HF Deluxe Eco (which gets aerodynamic mirrors and leg guard with the tyres being low friction). The special edition Pleasure scooter gets a boot light and charger in the lower glove box. It also gets extreme prism headlight and new LED tail lights.
Hero hasn’t revealed the power figures of any of its products yet. The company will showcase more new products at the upcoming Auto Expo in February 2014. Hero is working on new platforms as well and plans to launch a total of 50 new products in the next 3 years (15 have been unveiled today, so 35 more will come). Hero might not hike prices on some of the updated products. The company will launch new scooters early next year. Pawan Munjal confirms the Karizma R and Karizma ZMR have got more power.
