Its been around two months since Hero MotoCorp launched its two-wheelers range in Central America. The world’s largest 2-wheeler maker sets another benchmark with the introduction of its motorcycle range in South Africa. Hero MotoCorp has launched a wide range of its models in South Africa by settling up the company’s first international manufacturing unit in Kenya where Hero will source CKD (Completely Knock Down) units from its Indian manufacturing facility. Hero MotoCorp is targeting to generate 10% of its total revenue from international markets by 2017.

The reach of Hero MotoCorp two-wheelers to potential offshore markets like South Africa and Guatemala will aid the company to achieve its production and revenue targets. Hero MotoCorp has commenced its business operations in a joint venture with Ryce East Africa, a reputed business house based in Kenya. The in-house part of Ryce East Africa, Sameer Group, has been assigned as the authorized distributor of Hero MotoCorp two-wheelers in Kenya and for the other distribution operations with its extensive dealership network across the country.

The company has launched its city commuter Dawn, Splendor Pro and Glamour along with higher capacity offerings like the Hunk and Karizma. The business activities will also be started in Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast from next week and to become known in the international markets, Hero MotoCorp will soon release the english version of its cheerful anthem ‘Hum Mein Hain Hero’. Hero MotoCorp has been the largest two-wheeler maker in the world and the company has extensive plans to hold its position in the coming years.

Presently, the company has three manufacturing facilities in India along with a new plant in Kenya for CKD operations as mentioned earlier. The current manufacturing capacity of Hero MotoCorp for a year is equal to 30 lakh motorcycles which will be increased by almost half of the total production as two new manufacturing plants are under development phase for international markets.
