Hero Honda has increased the prices of almost all its models in the range of Rs 500-1500 due to an increase in input costs and problems with FOREX currencies, specially the Japanese Yen. The hike on lower models like the Splendor is Rs. 500 whereas the companies premium offerings (Karizma and ZMR) are now costlier by Rs. 1500/-.
“To partially off-set the rising input costs, we have increased prices of our models in the range of Rs 500 to Rs 1,500,” a company spokesperson said. “We have always taken a long-term view on pricing, given its strategic nature. Hence we had consciously held back price increase on most of our products despite the rising input costs and hardening commodity prices,” he added.
